The story is of a girl who collects words and shares them with the world to help combat conflict, boredom, and carelessness. What really makes this story The book is lovely and beautifully illustrated, although it fell a little short for me. Sure enough, I'd been excited to read it and I liked the idea of the little word collecting girl who looked Smartphones and tablets.

After reading this story with the students, discussing, and studying it there is SO MUCH to see have students become word collectors themselves. I used a plastic shoe holder to create a class collection. After reading the story, the class decided on some words that were overused. As students discovered strong words to replace the overused words, they would write the new words on popsicle sticks.
